Wall Screen Show
In 2024, you can experience artist Woo Je-gil's works as
immersive, three-dimensional videos through screens at the
Asian Content Interactive Wall in Gwangju. You can
appreciate the artist's various works centered on the theme
of light with more vivid movements, thanks to the
multi-colored tapes incorporated in the pieces.

A three-dimensional white room is displayed, followed by
a scene where the walls crack and crumble. This
presentation style seems to break the notion of a flat
screen. Breaking free from the constraints of space, it
showcases a more liberated and vibrant display of light
and shape.
From the perspective of people viewing from the opposite
building or ground level, rather than head-on, a
different perspective is applied, creating an optical
illusion that enhances the sense of grandeur. The dark
background makes the brightly lit center stand out more,
creating an atmosphere as if moving through dimensions.
Light Illuminating the Darkness
This immersive content expresses a hopeful Asia,
inspired by artist Woo Jae-gil's light artwork that
emphasizes straight lines emerging from the gaps of cut
surfaces. Created using 3D anamorphic technology, it
presents a three-dimensional immersive content by
portraying raw prism stones that appear to protrude from
the screen, seemingly refracting sunlight. This creates
an illusion of depth and dimensionality in the content.
Primitive forms of raw prism stones, blending gold,
silver, blue, and black, appear floating in a dark void.
Then, a radiance begins to emanate from within the
prisms, gradually creating ripples that spread outward
in all directions. The camera zooms into the prism's
interior, vividly depicting the refraction of iridescent
light in various hues with depth. The sequence concludes
as intense beams of light in diverse colors, having
spread in all directions, are captured on an interactive
wall.
The video titled 'Brilliant Growth' allows for a
different viewpoint of artist Woo Jae-gil's depiction of
light using tape. The individually moving gradient tapes
symbolize freedom. It showcases infinite possibilities
and fluidity for growth through bright light, intense
colors, and movement.
From people's perspective, one can observe the movement
of each massive piece, looking up at the process
symbolizing growth.
Unlike 'Sparkling Gemstone', it features intense
movement and diverse color sensations as if moving
through dimensions at the speed of light. Particularly,
the circular sphere at the center maximizes immersion as
if following from people's viewpoint during dimensional
travel.
When viewed from the perspective of walking people, the
circular sphere moving up, down, left, and right creates
additional depth with a limited central view due to the
influence of another perspective.
Instead of depicting light's movement in pieces, it
expresses it in individual streaks, grouping them by
color to create bundles of bundles. The movement of
light bundles, resembling refracted plants, is both
complex and orderly, forming a harmonious whole. The
T-shaped frame, similar to the screen's edge, provides a
sense of depth as if transitioning from 2D to 3D.
When viewed from the perspective of walking people, it
expresses a grandeur different from the frontal view.
The movement of light streams with a different
perspective creates a unique dynamism.
